gotta read this:
this is chanelle's note on her facebook, you gotta read this. so encouraging!
All I wanna do is entertain people, make movies, and dance (and fulfill God's will and live my life accordingly to His word, but that goes without saying).
I seriously couldn't think of a thing that would make me happier, as long as the right people are involved. But I get such a rush out of not just being the center of attention, but knowing that the people are amused/entertained. Like, I'd not the kind of girl that will do obnoxious, whiny things to draw attention to herself. like laugh too loudly or wear low cut tops or talk about myself (I hate talking about myself, in all actuality). I just like to entertain and thus, I am addicted to the spotlight. There possibly cannot be anything else that I am destined to do
Consider this a brief reflection of sorts. In 11 days, I'm home for 40 days. Then my life starts over. Same room, same major, but still. It's gonna be somewhat different.
Thus comes the end of my first semester of college at New York University. I can hardly grasp the concept. Like really? I've been a college student for a whole semester? You don't say...
To be honest, these three months have definitely changed my life. I am not being dramatic, but seriously.
First off, it has tremendously strengthened my relationship with and focus on God. And I have Cru to thank for that. I remember when I first started attending, I was amazed at how focused these people were God and Jesus. It inspired me to get to that level. And though there is always room for improvement, I've definitely grown in that sense, and I feel so great because of it. There are times that I just feel God. I know He's there, and I love Him so much. People downplay and deny His existence so much. Or just forget about Him. But the truth is, when I'm in touch with God, I just feel better. Period.
Just Cru in general has had such a major impact on my life. It gave me this group of amazing people that I truly enjoy spending my time with. Whoever has that retarded notion of Christians being no fun and uptight are hanging with the wrong people. But beyond a fun level, they are truly great people. I'm so glad that God led me to that particular Christian group right off the bat, because I know that's where I belong. Seriously, though, it was so God's hands leading me there. One of those things were you look back and are like, "Wow. Thanks."
I've learned to appreciate my family and best friends even more. My family, especially. We were on this path of getting closer before I left for college, but now that has been cemented. We're tight, and being away from my brother has even somehow cultivated our friendship. Maybe it's because he's finally growing up a bit - I dunno. But we're definitely beyond the days of stupid fighting, and we can hang out and kind of talk now. Then my best friends. Man, I know those are the girls that are gonna be with me for the rest of my life. Sometimes I miss them so much - just having them around to do whatever. But it makes my breaks all the more special.
Then there was this ridiculous realization with what exactly I want to do with my life and how I should obtain, which was brought on my a slight series of events that totally has "God" written all over it. I was finally able to see the reason for why everything that went down in high school happened. I knew there was a reason before - I just failed to see it. Now it's been made clear to me
Thus, the ridiculous things that I had been battling for practically the past 2 years (well, like end of 2005 up until sometime early this year) no longer matter. I am completely over every little piece of high school drama that went on. Grudges and bitter feelings - gone. Do I still feel like I was majorly screwed over? Yes. Do I care? No. Old news. It happened, it got me to where I am now, it's done. Next chapter, please.
Anyway, time goes by fast. I've seen the Jonas Brothers in person twice, meant some of the stars from the show that has been my favorite for the past six years, and can now say that NYC is my stomping grounds.
I'm ready to tackle next semester full force. I expect great things out of it, and then it's on with the rest of my life. Yeah, man.

so he saw your pic and was like, "she's very pretty." thanks, i replied. and then we started talking about female blond asian male couples are rare and how the other way around is more prevalent. he continued and asked me if i get weird looks. i thought about it for a little bit, and said yes, how about you?
he smiles. says, no. it's cuz i'm such a stud.
hahaha. mind you, he's 55-year old man...
