Hey Babe,
I'm sitting in the airport on a station where I can plug my laptop in. The girl next to me is typing something into a word document and I decided to read it...I dunno...rude but I was bored. Well, I wasn't gonna read the whole thing, just glance to see what topic she was writing on...it looked like a paper. And it was on a plane crash. I started reading it. She's writing about all the ways one can die on a plane and talking about the likely hood of surviving. At the bottom it says. "OF course this all may be wishful thinking I may die peacefully in my sleep." I'm really sad for her, I think she's suicidal or maybe just really depressed. Either way, please pray for her. At first it made me scared, I'm not sure why, because God is on my side and his will reigns. However, it is still scary to think about plane crashes when one's about to get on a plane. And they were so graphic. Actually, she's a good writer. Maybe she's writing a novel? Hrm. She seems to young for that. Anwyays. WIll you pray for her? Thanks.

Do you think God is on everyone's side? And if He's on everyone's side, why do some people suffer while others prosper? Are they wicked? How can they be wicked if they are made in the image of God. If God is perfect why is Man imperfect? How can a perfect God create something that is imperfect? Why should He give Man free will? Why would He do that? It makes no sense. Can God make no sense? So many questions. So few sensible answers.
Hey Miles.
Those are a lot of good questions you ask. I don't have answers, of course, but this is what I believe based on what I've seen of the character of God.
I think God's on everybody's side. I think the question is. Do people allow GOd to be? Christ says, "I am with you always, to the very end of the age" I think everybody is suffering in some way because there are parts of our lives where we want to do things our way, we don't believe our lives are better in God's hands. SOme people's suffering is just more obvious than others. This doesn't make one person better than another, God loves them just the same. Why is man imperfect? Well, would you want to be robot? We're perfect because we have free choice. God gave us free choice because he didn't want a bunch of machines loving him, he wanted people to have the choice to love him or not.
But the most important of all your questions is "can God make no sense." Yes he can. I believe God is so big and vast that he is beyond human comprehension. That is the coolest part about God. That it's faith, beacuse he something we could never prove, never understand, never explain.
So, how did you find this post and what lead you to comment on it? And what do you think about your questions?
Well said, babe.
Miles, to add my two cents, like Caroline said, I don't have the answers but I have some thoughts on it.
The beauty of God is the mystery of God. God's plan is not something to be grasped by simple minds like ours. Rather, it's something that He allows us to fathom from time to time. God cannot be comprehended. In fact, he is, as C.S. Lewis puts it, "not tame."
But I encourage you to keep asking because you're on your way to reaching some kind of truth in your life. You're questioning. I know I grew up just taking what people have said to me in churches and schools alike at face value and it made me into a person without a passion. You start asking questions, and you actively seek the answers, you'll find what you've been looking for.
I've found, so simply, that the answer to all my questions is "Jesus, I surrender." Literally.
